Bloggers Take Note

April 15th, 2008 admin

Over the past week or so there has been much discussion in the blogosphere.

Here are the highlights in no particular order.

Not Larry Sabato: BVBL Removed from NLS Blogroll

CitizenTom: A Man is Known by His Friends

CitizenTom: The 2008 Prince William County Convention

Interesting quote from the Convention thread:

For the time being, what is important is that the majority of the party decided against throwing Letiecq out. Unfortunately, Letiecq shows little evidence of remorse; he seems likely to be a repeat offender. So in time, I would not be surprised if someone else decides enough is enough. Then the issue of whether or not Letiecq engages in character assassination on Black Velvet Bruce Li will be revisited.

I don’t think I’ve read much from Citizen Tom before. But he’s got a great writing style…..very thought provoking, pretty leveled, and sane. Thanks for the links!

Check out this quote from Citizen Tom: “If we want to secure our borders and to stop employers from hiring illegal immigrants, the people we choose to lead the movement must have sterling reputations. Otherwise, those profiting off illegal immigrants will no trouble thwarting our efforts.” Good stuff!

Thanks, admin! You’re doing a great job. Maybe now is a good time to differentiate ourselves a bit more from the OTHER? Maybe show this blog for what we are: a bright beam of light shining against an awfully dark, nasty blog. I hesitate to say this, cuz it’s your blog and you pay the bills, but maybe, just maybe, you can reverse the text so that everything is white on black? A teeny tiny change, for sure, but I always though the other blog was intentionally menacing in its dark design. Keep EVERYTHING else the same, except for the reverse. I think your intent will be clear. :)

But just tell my to shut up and I will. :) Clearly, you’re doing okay w/o me. :)

Admin – Thank you for the links. While I do not necessarily agree with your all issue positions, I do think this blog add something useful to the discussion.

There is an expression the Brits invented we would all would do well to remember, “the loyal opposition.” Our Constitution, our form of government, was not the product of one mind or one party. Instead, what have is the results of many generations of struggle and experiment. When Americans sought compromise in a climate mutual respect, we made our greatest progress.

    Citizen Tom,
I think your move at the convention was courageous, and I admire you for willing to tall in your conviction. Your words of wisdom in your post reflect your sense of decency and fairness.

Excellent Blog Posts on Immigration Issue (+)

I just wanted to point you to several excellent blog posts in recent days on the immigration issue here in Virginia.
*Vince’s diary at Too Conservative is superb, written from a Christian, Republican perspective.

*Karen at Anonymous is a Woman once again proves why I say she’s the best, or certainly one of the best writers in the Virginia blogosphere. Also, see her super comments in this NLS diary.

*Speaking of NLS, here is the diary that kicked off the much-needed conversation.

*Finally, check out the superb new blog, Anti-BVBL, which is experiencing one of the most successful launches to a blog I think I’ve ever seen here in Virginia.

    Great work, everybody.

P.S. Whoops, I almost forgot the 9500 Liberty YouTube channel by Eric Byler and Annabel Park. These two individuals have demonstrated how important it is for good people not to just sit by and do nothing when people are being persecuted and harassed. Thank you, Eric and Annabel!

Alanna, girlfriend, people are taking notice of your little endeavor. :)

Yes, they are scared. The children are afraid because they are worried that their father will drive drunk, and get deported after hitting some racist white person, who will immediately call the police. They are worried that their mother get caught using someone elses social security number working at MacDonalds, and after serving some racist their double quarter-pounder with cheese meal. Then these beautiful children will have nightmares about La Migra. I’ll have to drag my toddler son up to the Mcoart building, and use him as a prop during citizens time. I have to claim to be a moderate republican even though there is no recird of me ever voting in a republican primary or participating in a republican convention. Makes me gag! Then I have to violate election laws and put up the http://www.removestirrup.com website. See what you racists have driven me to? Oh yes, and you have scared the children. To them I say; Pobre ninas! Pobre ninos! Que lastima. Yo soy una gringa rico liberal y me gusta las ninos sin papeles. Me esposo es Latino. Me gusta todos los personas sin papeles!

Hey, the Feds are cooperating with PWC, why aren’t you guys? So what arguments are left in your arsenal? The weather is getting nicer, so are there any marches scheduled? How about that sign expansion in Manassas? How is that working for you? It appears to me that MWB has walked out on you folks. I haven’t seen a quote from them in forever. I guess they’re following the masses up to Maryland.

If anyone is wondering, I cose my moniker redawn, pronouced: Red Dawn .
    Here is the reason why:
I am just a small town, hometown girl who didn’t realize, the power of ONE VOICE, that could make a difference.
I am NOT a know it all, if ANYTHING I am asking questions, not looking for trouble. That’s was the gist of the movie, Red Dawn ,in the middle of no where, not looking for trouble, never thought you would be faced with the position of defending your country, your rights, even though you were grateful for your freedom and the respect of those who did fight and lost their lives.
It is up to EVERY American to do so, do not sit back and think you are just a number….it takes ONE and the rest will follow

Believe it or not, I am ALMOST flawless when it comes to typos at work. LOL, I see I STILL have this problem thatI had back then. I KNOW what it is, my mind speaks so much faster than my fingers and mix that with TRUTH and NOT protocol. ;)

    Wow Redawn,
You just brought me back to a previous life, BC(before children)! I totally love your song choices. I remember when I first visited Greg’s blog, I told you that Redawn was one of my all time favorite movies! Even then, you were very respectful to me, and I remember that :)

    Second Alamo,

Lone voice crying in the wind? Who are you talking to? What is this crap about marches?

I think you have the wrong website. The folks you are looking for are not here.

Redawn, sis, thanks for the info! I kept pronouncing it “re-dawn” like you know…another dawn.

I like that bit about asking questions, though. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve done that and have led myself into a snake pit! LOL. Glad people like you are willing to travel to the pit with me!

Second Alamo….you know ICE is lurking out there waiting for another strike in PWC….just a matter of time. I predicted this many months ago. Many blame the “racists Stewart and Stirrup” for the ICE raid(s). They have to blame somebody and call them names…that’s who they are. According to their book, personal resposibility went out with the bath water. Yeah, the esteeemed Ricardo Juarez from MWB is losing his base of followers to Maryland. If he decides to have marches again he’ll have to have them bused in from MD. By the way, the “massive march” he so touted last year only yielded 3,000 participants(police estimates) AND many of those were bussed in from other counties/states. He had predicted 20 to 25K marchers…..that particular march was an utterly embarrassing, pathetic failure for him.

    Maribel,

Why do you feel the march led by Senior Juarez was ‘an utterly embarrassing, pathetic failure for him?’

I thought that the crowd was well-behaved and spoke to their issues.

If MWB is to be faulted, it is for giving their followers hope when the die was already cast. They perhaps used a tactic that just wasn’t right for their cause.

I don’t think I can ever fault any people in America for exercising their right to free speech regardless of whether I agree with it or not.
