"In Chief Dean's Defense" -- His last name is "Deane". For future reference.

On the other issue, if you do decide you want to see what is being written about you on that "other" site, an easy way is to use google advance search to look for your name on the domain, and then use the "cache" button to look at the posts. It only works after a few days, but it is the easiest way to look without having to actually access the original site.

The big advantage for you might be that the other site will never see your IP address access the site, since you will be reading off Google's cache.

Some day I might right about how Google is in my mind violating copyright by providing complete copies that I can access, but that's another topic.

I do believe that it is unethical to block a user from a blog, and then to discuss that user. Nothing wrong with blocking, but it's not nice to facilitate PUBLIC talking behind people's backs.

I think the fact that the KKK even LIKES HSM says it all.

You don't see the KKK endorsing us, do you? : )

I think it's HILARIOUS he says I am a Socialist.

Ummmm....I'm a member of the League of Women Voters? A NON-PARTISAN group working towards fair and open democracy? (My statements are not THEIRS, just to remind everyone...I don't speak for the group.)

If you look at some of the discussions I've had on my website, I advocate "ethical capitalism" and the Constituion.

Yeah. Real Socialist ready to take over the United States.

I've tried to learn Spanish. I guess that means I some enemy of society, eh?

The lengthy rant against KG reaches a new low, and is further indication of a personality disorder. I see someone who is obsessed with "enemies", obsessed with Zapatistas as if they pose a serious threat, and spends way too much time and effort trying to prove that he has all the answers, and anyone who seeks to stop him...look out. He claims that when the KKK reared their heads there, he was the first to denounce them (in another strangely long-winded post, as I recall), as if that was supposed to mean anything.

I agree that it is important to keep all of this public.

Thought you would be interested in this article. It kind of sums up with what is happening in these discussions, especially regarding the slamming of schools:

from "Academic Freedom in the Wired World" by Scott Jaschik
http://www.insidehighered.com/news/2008/03/06/oneil

Q: How do the severity of threats to academic freedom today compare to other periods in U.S. history?

A: While there has surely been no shortage of grave threats to academic freedom in the early 21st century, current conditions are not comparable to the dark days of the McCarthy era, which were clearly the worst of times within memory. Especially with regard to threats from sources that were rampant in the early to mid 1950s — disclaimer-type loyalty oaths, legislative investigations, campus speaker bans, security screens and the like — even the gravest of current governmental pressures tend to pale in comparison. What suggests to some observers an ominous shadow of McCarthyism is, however, a new set of threats to free inquiry on the university campus — from private “vigilante” groups that target professors and even students on Web sites and blogs, legislative demands for “balance” and removal of “bias” from the classroom, mounting restrictions on corporate-sponsored research, and constraints on electronic communications that would not be tolerated in print media.

_____________________________________

Q: You are known as a staunch advocate for free speech rights. Since you note that many of the developments that concern you are legally protected, how can and should academics protect themselves?

A: Since some of the most ominous new threats against the academic community come from sources that permit little or no legal redress, novel safeguards need to be considered. Clearly the most effective antidote to blog and other Internet postings designed to disparage professors is a vigorous response in the same medium and, where appropriate, other media. Faculty organizations as well as individuals should be readier than most have been to respond immediately and vigorously to baseless and scurrilous charges, and to seize both traditional and new media opportunities to correct the record. Often a second wave or recurrence of such accusations can be anticipated and even preempted through careful analysis and creative foresight. On the relatively rare occasion when such attacks could incur legal liability — for defamation or misappropriation of intellectual property, for example — formal recourse may be worth pursuing, even where the prospect of relief in the immediate case may be uncertain.

You have my support.

The more public the problem the safer for all. Most of have not had the "kool aid" and see how things are. Very sorry for your trouble.
I amm at a total loss for words to describe what I have witnessed over the past year of what passes as local politics here in PWC.
Coming from a multigenerational family of politicians this experience has been shocking in the complete absence of ethics and integrity. I have observed many badly handled campaigns and causes at various levels of government. This action in PWC and the players wins hands down as the worst I've ever seen in the ethics and integrity arena.

Yeah, I don't have access to BVBL (been blocked like y'all) so I have no idea what else he is saying and really don't care.

I don't want any stuff emailed to me. If you want to post it here, fine, but I like to be in control of when I have to read that kind of crap (which is why I hardly ever visited BVBL in the first place...because it's full of negative, hateful crap). I don't appreciate "HIS" contacting me on my home email when my website email goes to my gmail account. So please no email. Posting here is fine.

Thanks all for your support. If "he" weren't so damn creepy and scary, I would just be laughing my butt off about all the other stuff!

Rack and Deutchland Uber Alles

According to the various fiscal plans and budget committee meetings I've read and attended the Police Department has received grants for 35 plus officers, MDC's for the cars and computerized fingerprinting equipment. As he has said over and over again, camera's would be great but they've never risen higher in his priority than other items. I guess his prioirties includes police officers, fingerprinting and yes a boat.

Shock and awe at these priorities. The county was off the hook for a few years on salaries for new officers.

If you are in Manassas and don't get out of there much, you don't venture out to Leesylvania state park on a summer Sunday and notice the many many jet ski's and boats on the water, or over to Occoquan to check on those many many marinas there and around Belmont Bay.

Why be cryptic in saying "Shortchanged a lot of other people on their share of the grant moneys they were supposed to proctor, but in the end they did have millions and spent it all"

Just say what you know, if you know, and it can be researched. Remember you are on ANTI now, we provide facts and figures before making accusations, a whole new concept I am sure, but give it a shot!!
