Odd rantings… Just finished reading – ‘Last-Ditch Efforts To Protect Illegal Aliens‘, and am astonished to learn that exercising a constitutional right against self-incrimination is contrary to the law. If an attorney uses the law to find an individual a legal way to prevent deportation then so what. What’s the problem? Obviously, you can’t have it both ways; either you are for the rule of law or your not. Obviously, an attorney would attempt to use the law to prevent a deportation. Is this some radical new notion? Listen, attorneys don’t make-up the law, they practice it. So, if you have a grievance it’s with the law and not the attorney. Is this too complicated for some people to understand? Last I checked, everyone is entitled to be represented regardless of their immigration status. And you better just resign yourself to the fact that not all detentions will result in deportations. No subversion there.
And now for the shameless pitch for donations to the organization that was set-up because ‘It’s hard to save the world if you can’t pay the rent.‘






























Next thing you know they’ll be going after public defenders for helping criminals. Oh wait! My bad. The majority of criminals are not Hispanic so I guess they won’t object to that.

Yes, a proud moment for PWC. What part of that 48 million is in direct response to the illegal immigration crackdown I wonder. I can’t wait to see the first pictures/video of children being taken from their parents, not having committed any crime except being here without proper documentation.

The “jack-booted thugs” are coming from your side of the camp, dear moderator. (Yes, there is proof, and I’m not going to provide any more here).
The hysteria about “illegals” is coming from websites like these, John Stirrup, and Corey Stewart, propaganda that does nothing but foster racism and hatred and violence. The proof is in the stats: PWC cares more about transportation than “illegals.”
Of course people are hysterical. Of course they want lawyers. You would, too, if we decided to suddenly deport every person with an ax to grind against a single population whose crime is civil, not criminal.
Next time you get a speeding ticket, think about being hauled down to the police station and interrogated. Think about being threatened to get thrown out and sent back to wherever it is your family came from originally.
It has happened before, and it will happen more, now. It could be YOU.

They are now finding out that there is no tangible outcome to spending that much money? They are now realizing if they deport 100% more of the 60 over five years what the cost per deportation is? They are now finding out that they can’t control the outcome of spending this much money – that the fed do? They are now finding out that ICE does not give them the numbers of those deported by jurisdiction from which they are “collected”. Up through now they’ve only been concerned about what bang they can get for their personal agendas.
I am supposed to believe that bang for the buck is now an issue? I think it’s still no increased taxes on my watch because that doesn’t make me look good.
They should all be ashamed of themselves on our behalf for letting this get so out of control. All we need now is a riot or a lawsuit to just bury the whole place.
At least Ms. Alanna got some notice instead of THE OTHERS. How refreshing, it makes me feel like a human citizen of PWC. Her point that this is not driving out the bottom of the pile illegals or the criminal element is critical to the concept of self-deportation.

I am still astounded that these numnuts, our elected leaders, entrusted to be thoughtful and educate themselves on all matters that pertain to the good of the county, let themselves be fear mongered into this stupdidity! Where is their backbone, where is the courage, where is the forethought?
There were actual comments about real republicans and tax rates thrown about some of those meetings. Talk radio has come to PWC in the form of the Board meetings! I think that’s what it has boiled down to. Tuesday’s meeting will direct the future of PWC.
I still can’t get over the bi-polar action with the open space vote last week.
What really bothers me about this case that was mentioned in the Post is that this family was 3 weeks shy of being able to adjust their status here. The son/brother was 3 weeks shy of his 21st birthday so their application was denied. It was submitted by the immigration attorney but it was rejected. The sister is younger than the brother and was interested in jrROTC, loved playing basketball and enjoyed going to Washington Mystics games. She had attended County & City Schools her entire academic life. The family owned the homes and paid real estate & property taxes as well as federal/state taxes. Honestly, the sister identifies as an American but now is waiting for re-entry in Guatemala. They had paid thousands of dollars to immigration attorneys with no results. It’s my understanding that she will be eventually able to return but at what cost? How much of her academics will she lose? To me it seems that allowing her to adjust her status here would have been a better long-term alternative. And she was so close to having it turn out that way anyways, so it just makes it harder to understand.
